Based on the select-fire Bren 2, this handy rifle operates via a short-stroke gas piston system with a return spring contained within the action itself. Without the need for a buffer tube, it features a folding, adjustable stock. At 35.6 inches long, folding that stock brings its length down to just 28 inches — making it much easier to transport or store.
A true lightweight, the Bren 2 has an aluminum upper and a lower made of carbon fiber composite. The ‘Ms’ designation means that it employs a modular forend that can be swapped to different lengths or styles based on user preference/need.
Its non-reciprocating charging handle stays stowed in the forward position until it is needed and is swappable from side to side. An AR-style bolt catch/release system is mirrored on both sides of the firearm, as well as a catch/release nestled into the front of the trigger guard. The magazine release and safety are also ambidextrous.

Excellent SCAR 16 competitor

I bought this after reading a review stating the recoil mitigation was similar to a SCAR16. I do not have a SCAR 16 for comparison (although I would have liked one), but I do have a SCAR17. The recoil mitigation going from AR10 to SCAR 17 is impressive. The recoil mitigation going from AR15 to BREN 2 is comparable and amazing. In a standing position, I get no noticeable muzzle rise. Follow up shots are extremely easy. I am not disappointed. I wish this carbine was around years ago; I would consider not having any AR15s in favor of additional BRENs. Fantastic rifle. Just watch hand placement due to the reciprocating charging handle.
