Helpfulness
Finally have a threaded barrel for my TP9DA
5
Jul 11, 2023
After some searching online for a TP9DA threaded barrel, found out some other DA owners found that this barrel would fit and function in the Canik TP9DA(it is not advertised anywhere to be usable with the DA). For such a reasonable price($54.99 at time of purchase) I decided to give it a go, turns out it works great in my TP9DA. Your mileage may vary, but so far it fits like it was made for the DA and cycles just fine. Have a little over 400 rounds through it in my DA(300 with the factory thread protector, little over 100 with a micro-comp. All with the factory recoil spring) and only had the thread protector almost walk itself off once, tightened it good and had no further issues. The only noticeable difference was the ejection pattern being slightly "weaker"(doesn't eject them as far/harshly as factory configuration) but it still ejects spent casings fine. Has two small wrench flats on the sides of the protector. Also has a witness hole for verifying if there's a round in the chamber, a nice little addition as the factory barrel didn't have this feature. *The barrel does NOT ship with an O-ring to help keep the protector snug in place. Had to pick those up separate, you'll want some hi-temp O-rings. Only used the hi-temp Viton O-rings so far but I keep shearing those in half attempting to clock the micro-comp correctly. There's a slight gap from slide to back of thread protector, about 1/4 of an inch. See pics for some measurement references(measurements were done with digital calipers, not perfect but close enough for a review).
